2014DV AOS, step between DSP122 and I-485?

Hi,

I've been selected for the 2014 DV, I'm doing AOS, and I've already sent in my DSP-122. I have two questions that I'm hoping someone can help..

1- Now, as far as I understand, I need to start preparing I-485 till my number becomes current, correct?

2- I need to send in the AOS fee of $330 to Dept of State along with its form and a self-addressed envelope. But when do I do that? When my number becomes current? Right now? When I get the confirmation back from KCC?

1- Now, as far as I understand, I need to start preparing I-485 till my number becomes current, correct? -Yes, in addition to that, you will need to do a medical which will be submitted with your I-485 package.

2- I need to send in the AOS fee of $330 to Dept of State along with its form and a self-addressed envelope. But when do I do that? When my number becomes current? Right now? When I get the confirmation back from KCC? - Quick correction, the $330 fee is not the AOS fee, that is the DV administrative fee/cost. AOS fee (currently $1070) is paid when the I-485 package is sent in. The $330 DV fee however has to be paid before the I-485 package is sent in. The choice is yours as to when you can make the DV payment. You can either wait until KCC send you an acknowledgment of AOS intention email (this email will include payment instructions, it could be sent anywhere between 4-12 weeks following the receipt of your DSP-122). Or you can be proactive and make the payment ahead of the email receipt.

Thanks a lot. I read them but the info on the $330 fee wasn't quite clear to me, this helped a lot.
