2014 DV chargeability on notice letter

Hi All, id really appreciate any help or advice!!
I was selected for further processing for the DV 2014. My question is, on the letter it states country of chargeability and state as Australia/Sydney. however im sure on my application i nominated Ireland, I live in sydney australia, and am an ozzie citizen, but i was not born here, and both of my parents where born in ireland.
Is the letter saying that i stuffed up my initial application (by putting australia instead of ireland), or just that i will have my interview in Sydney? (which is what im hoping!)
Its heartbreaking to think i could be disqualified.. : (
I find it hard to believe i would have stuffed it up as i was pretty well researched prior to lodging the application.. I cant get a straight answer out of KCC they said ring the AU embassy, and the embassy wont answer a question until they have my file.
I dont know if im worrying unnecessarily, or if i have stuffed up and will be disqualified!
any advice please??

actually.. im just looking at my letter now, and i notice the case number is 2014OCXXXXXX im guessing the OC is oceania, which indicates i did stuff up... im going to be disqualified arnt i : (

Yeah I think you will be DQ. By the sound of it you are native of Ireland (i.e. born there) and your Parents were Irish so yes you should have applied as Ireland and then you would have got an EU number (had you won).

Are you married to an Aussie? That might be a glimmer of hope if you were already married when you entered the eDV.

Well actually i was born in the UK, so i was claiming Ireland through my parents, given that England isnt eligible. i just cant believe i would have stuffed that up on application, but the letter indicates i claimed Australia..
No unfortunately not married to an ozzie

For future ref.....you may want to be careful with this route as well.
There are some strict requirements for qualif. via parents.

Basically at the time of your birth parents' stay in England MUST 've been as temp. visitor/resident! If they were PRs you're out!

No they where temporarily in England, infact just my mother, she was only over in london for a couple of weeks and i came early, however i dont imagine ill get to explain that at interview? as i guess ill be DQ'd, is it safe to assume that the letter of confirmation is refering to the country i have to proove eligability/chargeability to, as opposed to the place ill do my interview? im hoping its interview... but i think im wishfull thinking and ive probably made a stuff up.. this is what it says in the letter...

Case Number: 2014OC000002XX
Preference Category: DV DIVERSITY
Foreign State Chargeability: AUSTRALIA
Post: SYDNEY

Oh, I was warning you to be careful in any future eDVs.
For this I think its a done deal, no way you can claim an OC CN and sail thru!

Anyways, for future, if you're lucky again!, make sure you have Mom's temp. visa and more importantly proof that her permanat adobe was in Ireland (deeds/lease w/her name) etc.

Be prepared ,who knows, luck can strike again!

Best!

Gutted for you mate.

I was about to say - You might want to take the risk and go through the process anyway. It will cost you a few hundred bucks and may end up with a rejection,. but at least you will know for sure (and maybe you get lucky). If you do go down that route be 100% honest on the 122 and 230 form. They might reject you automatically because of that submission, but at least you won't have lied on the most important forms (and lying can get you barred).

Having said that there are some consequences of submitting an application for immigration to the US so you need to weigh that up carefully.

Parents chargeability and post

Hi Everyone

I just won the DV 2014 lottery. Was wondering if someone could answer a few questions for me.

First here is some info about me...
1. I was born in Canada but I am charging through my parents country...Barbados. I was born in Montreal in 73 and they became Citizens of Canada in 1974.

2. In my letter it says Country of chargeability: Barbados
POST: Montreal

3. I currently live in the US and have for quite some time through a TN visa. My Visa is currently good til 2016.

Question...I'm not sure why it says POST Montreal if I live in the US, I plan to adjust my status with the USCIS, should I contact the KCC to change this, how important is this piece of information?

Question. Will I be OK charging under my parents as long as I have their birth certificates?

Thank you in advance

David, send them an email quoting you name, date of birth, and case number, and explain the situation in few clear words and see what they say. I wish that by some strike of good fortune it goes through.
