Hey all

I'm a little confused by how the order from here on goes. This is my guess; please correct or advise? :) Thanks!
- Forms for AOS sent to KCC [done.. should I email them to confirm my docs are OK?]
- I will receive some kind of 'confirmation' NL or e-NL [not yet..]
- Pay the first fee ($440) [when should I do this?]
- I start to gather all my documents, in preparation for..
- My CN coming current (probably in Oct with my CN#)
.. then I file form I-485 to Chicago
- Pay the second fee?
- I do final preps.. for Affidavit of Support (if needed) and get my Medical done
- Wait for my interview date/confirmation of I-485
- Present all the documents at the interview, and if all goes well.. receive GC/stamp

Is this right?

I do not get about the first & second fee, ain't we suposed to pay just once at the ambassy? Because in the DV official video, the guy said that we pay only once at the ambassy because if we pay before the interview & our visa is denied, we would have paid for nothing... Need some clarification here.. ain't we suposed to pay jist once 800 & something at the ambassy when our visa is accepted?

Dude, read the DV 2011 AOS thread. There're lots of irrelevant and personal posts, but lots of valuable information as well. If you do AOS:

1) Send $440 * number of ppl to DOS (St. Louis) - http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4763.html
2) Send DSP-122 + pics + barcode to DOS (williamsburg). This step is unnecessary per instructions, but is highly recommended. - www.state.gov/documents/organization/80148.pdf
3) You may or may not receive NL2 - for AOS it is not important, don't worry. But you have to receive receipt from step 1.
4) Do your medicals. You can find a kosher vet on USCIS website - https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=CIV
5) When your CN is current (October) you file I-485 with $1070 (aka "second fee") and supporting evidence - http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/us...nnel=2df93a4107083210VgnVCM100000082ca60aRCRD
6) Wait for acceptance email and NOA
7) Wait for biometrics appt.
8) Show up at ASC for biometrics. Make sure you wash your hands with soap - they need fingerprints among other things.
9) Wait for interview appt. There's a chance you're lucky, then there will be no interview for you - proceed to step 12.
10) Show up at you FO for an interview. No dirty or racist jokes for 10 minutes, no drugs for at least 24 hours before that time, mint chewing gum and you'll be just fine.
11) ...
12) PROFIT!!!!

oh, AOS, then I'm not concern I think, by the way, AOS is the adjustment of statu right? Like for someone on a temporary visa?

Yes, Adjustment of Status. If you're physically in the United States and hold certain valid nonimmigrant status, and you've been a good boy throughout the year, you may be eligible to receive Green card directly from USCIS without applying for and entering on IV.

Thanks for the info, not my case but still good to know

I am curious, how would it be possible to 'skip' an interview? And you are suggesting I pay the $440 *before* I send the docs to KCC? It seems that most other people (including KCC) suggest otherwise? (ie: after)

1-2 persons per year here don't have an interviews. See last year spreadsheet - https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc...1NDJaZWR0aTBQTHc&hl=en&authkey=CKu6h5UN#gid=0

It doesn't really matter. Most people wait for 2nd NL since it contains this form - http://www.travel.state.gov/visa/visa_4763.html - printed. You may, however, print it yourself and send before the forms - some people did that as well.
