Hi,

Good luck to all

Received the FP letter today, scheduled for 12/14.
Anyone knows how long it usually takes after FP is done to change the status to: "In line for interview scheduling"?

Thank you and good luck to all.

I was able to do my fingerprinting at Philly yesterday via Walk-in. Concerning, your question, its USCIS! They act in mysterious ways. From what I understand, the status changes only after the background checks are completed and the don't want any extra documentation from you. If you punch-in your case ID on their website, it gives a brief description of various states in this process. Not sure how much they follow to the letter.

Good luck!

Thanks goraj,

Congratulations for completing the FP. So they didn't mind you walked in there before your appointment? What did you tell them?

It depends on the crowd. When I went there was only 4-5 people ahead of me and the hall was almost empty. But, the lady said initially that something to the token that they need appointments.... But, I said I have a meeting on the appointment date and that's why I came there to take a chance if they could do it. Then she agreed to allow both myself and my wife. Then they give you a 1-page information form, where you have to write down your name, used names, A#, application #, etc. The same stuff they they ask you in your application. There there another lady who verifies your identity and gives you a token. Of course, they also give you the booklet containing the study material for the exam. In short, after that it was 10-15 minutes to complete the whole process.

Of course, the FP is just a small part. Hopefully, the FBI name checks should be cleared and sent back in short amount of time. I know when I applied for my GC, it got stuck. Some say they have reduced this backlog, but only God knows!

Good luck.
