20 month wait for EAD, any advice

Hi guys, any advice would be appreciated.
On September 2002 I have filed I-485 application along with EAD and AP. Since that date I have not received anything from INS. During this period I have filed for H-1B extension twice also have not received anything despite the fact that one extension expired while pending. On inquiries they either not respond at all or send my meaningless text something like “a review is required”.
Does anybody have been in such situation? What one could possible do to determine a reason for such along delay in processing?
Appreciate your respose.

For advice, more details are necessary. What do you mean "didn't receive anything"? Did you receive receipt(s)?
I assumed you have I-485 receipt. With that you can try to eFile an EAD, $120 may trigger your case. Currently, EAD processing is fast.

Your case is not normal anyway.

Dude...

Dude, were you sleeping all these days.

Send Fax enquiries every week till you get an approval or a response back.

Tell your lawyer to talk to INS to make sure that they have your case on file.

Don't hesitate to send fax enquiries to the director even. Another alternate is to apply for another EAD and see whether that get's approved.

Hope it helps...

similar case

I was in similar situation. My wife's EAD was stuck just like yours.

I tried sending all kinds of fax inquiries but nothing came out of it. Last response I got was - "we will revert back to you in 45 - 60 days". I waited for that period and four months later I am still waiting on that promise. Hardly comes as a surprise is it?

Anyway my lawyer and I decided to give up on the application. So we filed a new one and "lo and behold" we got it real fast - within 3 months!!

My advise would be to try out the inquiry process and see if anything comes out of it otherwise just file a new one.
