Hi everyone, the title basically sums up my issue. I am an asylum applicant and i have been waiting since May 2011 for my asylum decision. I have legal status, a drivers license, and a work permit, all limited to 1 year. I have been trying to push my application for the past 6 months with no help. i spoke to a supervisor at the Arlington office around the beginning of December 2012, and the supervisor told me they escalated my case and should get something by the end of the first week of January 2013. I went there the first week of January and was told to wait another month. i went there the next month i was told by a different supervisor that the first supervisor was wrong and that there is no set time frame and i should just keep waiting.
i have contacted both my congressman and my senator and they told me that the asylum office told them the exact same thing: keep waiting we are still reviewing.
does anyone have any suggestions on how to move my application forward?
