2 months gap between 1st & 2nd EAD

My first EAD was issued July 2007 based on pending asylum...
April this year I applied for renewal and I got the new EAD in Sep 2008

The validity of the 1st was 07/2007-07/2008
The validity of the 1st was 09/2008-09/2009

So there is a 2 months gap between the two .. and I was working during these 2 months depending on having a receipt for renewing EAD and also I was thinking that the 2nd EAD should have the validity start with the end of the expiration of the 1st EAD..

Will this make any problem during the GC interview?
for example, the officer ask how i was working during these 2 months and I don't have EAD in hand ?

Thanks

upon grant of asylum, you are allowed to work without any restrictions. EAD is just for physical proof of your right to work. Your grant of asylum letter stipulates this clearly on the first page. I stand to be corrected if am wrong. I only applied for one when I was looking for job. They are getting pricey nwardays to renew too.... You will be fine, you need not worry about the gap

Your asylum is still pending, isn't right?

Like Jojos has mentioned, an EAD is just a photo ID to authenticity your eligibility to work as an alien. There is no confusion about your eligibility because your asylum case is still pending.

However, before worrying about your Green Card interview, you need to pass the first step and win your asylum case. Avoid this kind of distractions and concentrate on your case.

I wish you a good luck on your asylum case..

thanks Jojos and colocolo
I forgot to mention that my Asylum got approved during the time waiting for the second EAD .. so I got my EAD based on approved asylum in September also (before getting my 2nd EAD based on pending asylum)
so now I have two valid EADs issued September 08 .. :D

There is nothing to worry about. Even if the gap is EAD technically broke the law now that you have asylum granted it does not matter. Relax.

So are you all saying that if a person is granted an Asylum, s/he can start working while s/he is waiting to receive the EAD, which serves as an authentic Photo ID proving that a person is eligible to work legally?
