This would mean he provided them a case number, either incorrect ("not a diversity number") or one defined as a hole in their system. Either/or, there is no recovery from this that I can see. Sad, but end of story - sorry Mikey85, really am.I'm leaning toward he provided a number that is a "hole". Holes were once selectees. Maybe they created some extra holes quite late in the process due to the earlier country limits in place this year...

Hmm I just hope the screenshot with his name didn't come from someone else and money change hands after that to get a confirmation number...
I've never heard of a disappearing acceptance letter before? Holes always taken out before the 1NLs?
They should be yes, but then there is obviously some last minute shuffling hence the 84 vs 91
Hmm... If this were the case, he possibly could be holding a photoshoped piece of paper with his personal information put in, any third-party could produce, and should be glad KCC prevented him from unknowingly attempting visa fraudThat change in numbers has happened before and I've still never heard of it... also the numbers always go up rather than down...
Something doesn't add up about this story to me.
Yes, I agree. Unfortunately, as we all know, rampant fraud attempts already negatively impact the political/public perception in the US of the Diversity Lottery System (and to some extend the US IV process as a whole) as it exists today. I think KCC & local US consulates have to be lauded for having increased vigilance against visa fraud, as far as it currently goes. It is unfortunate though that, on occasions, this approach may well negatively impact some "innocent bystanders".Well we certainly saw fake selection letters being posted here this year... maybe they were just what we thought they were, ie some guys playing around, but yeh maybe some of them were scam attempts... sadly the scam artists seem to get 'better' over time.
It should look something like this (in sequence, left letter border):Sorry my mistake then I assumed you were referring to my case. And no it was not a confusion between the confirmation and case number. Thue said I had an invalid case number not confirmation. I will keep everyone updated though as to how they respond.
One quick thing. My INL has just my name on it under the DOS seal. I just looked now because some of you said people posted screenshots on the forums, and they have their address then their name saying Dear xxxx. Mine just says dear xxx. Any comments?
