I just called the BCIS 800 number, and the operator told me the new VCS time for I-485 approval is 19 months. I would believe this is the official time now.
I would like to know how many days they print on new I-485 receipts now days.
My case is pending for over 20 months, so I requested a case status anyway.

This wait time will increase from each passing month. For those who filed thier I485 in 2003, the wait time might become 36 months :(

Then in 2004 when the avg wait time is around 48mos, BCIS would come with CONCURRENT filing of
GC/CITIZENSHIP to solve this problem..!!

:)

Who knows, BCIS might replace I140 application with Greencard application and I485 application with Citizenship application. That will be a reasonable solution. Is Rajeev Khanna reading this ? :)

In future Employment based GC might have long wait like Family based GCs, Around 10 years.
With the new rule for Visa processing, even non-immigrant visa processing at US consulates might take months initially and later it will take years..................

Edison, we don't need to wait till the 'future' to see this long wait. We ARE already in a long wait. We are already in the 'future'. The receipt notice says 360-540. Many of us have passed 540 days and still haven't heard anything back from BCIS!
This is by itself is a long wait!

Remember ... when Clinton signed AC21, the idea was to get GC processed in less than 6 months!
