Hi,

We got our GC (including plastic card) sometime in August 2001. My wife and my kid (U.S. citizen) are staying outside U.S. for the past 5 months. For some personal reason, we need to postpone their return journey by 1 month. With this, my wife would be outside this country for about 6.5 months. Will this cause any problem when she enters U.S. at the port of entry ? Do we have to get any special permission from INS?

Your reply will be appreciated very much.

thanks

rboy,

No problem reentering into US.
The problem would be while applying for citizenship.

For CITIZENSHIP :
1. Stay in US for 30 months physically in last five years.
2. Should not have been out of US for more than six months
in any trip (that is only in any trip and not in a year).
