Hi,

    180 days rule applies only who filed after oct-2000. Is it true. I read Murthy Chat(6/25). .She mentioned in chat session., How you guys are responding for this issue.

If I understand my english correctly, what attorney matter said is that it is not relevent whether I-485 is filed before October 17 2000. If you do not think so why not ask the question first to Ms. Murthy before spreading such rumors where most users are not legal professionals who can give correct opinion. Thank you

I think Maddi2000 has raised a valid question. My client\'s lawyer said the same thing. Another friend of mine also got the same answer from his lawyer! So better watch out and get it clarified before depending on AC21 and acting on it!

Maddi, if you get a chance to read the AC21 law and the memo from INS, please read it, and let us all know if you find any mention of the dates, we all appreciate, until then please don\'t post ur assumptions.

You might be linking this with the 245(i) where you need to be present in US on 10/17/2000 to be eligible for the benefits. Don\'t get confused, man

Maddi, I don\'t understand why you got confused of the dates. I saw the transcript of 6/25 chat at Murthy\'s website. It clearly says that \' it\'s not relevant when the I-485 is filed.\'. Read it one more time.

u know if his 140 and 485 had different/same employer name ?

its a she, just search for topic by cwait ( my id on another computer) this weekend, i think she submitted her rfe just about the time the regulations came out, and 140 was same as 485, but she quit in april 2001
