180 days from Receipt Date or Notice Date?

Hi,
Maybe a repeat question but I need your clarification...
The "180 portability rule (for I140/I485)" is 180 days from the Receipt date or
the Notice date.
I have a 7 day difference between the two and could make a big difference,
as I am only going to stay 180 days in my old company after the Recepit Date.
Please someone clarify.
