140 approval mystery solved.

My 140 approval mystery has been solved today. My 485 was approved on 12/17/2004 after a Motion to Reopen. My 140 still shows as pending and no approval letter on 140 has been received by my company or lawyer.

I had filed for FOIA for my 140 and have received the papers today that show that my 140 was approved on 12/09/2004. USCIS never generated a approval notice for my 140. If my 485 would not have got approved, then I would not have ever come to know that my 140 has been approved !!!

USCIS is so funny.

485 will be approved no matter what!

From your case, I kindof feel that once 140 got approved, 485 will be approved no matter what. Even RFE, Denial, whatever, just keep fighting, you will win at last. Once you get 140 approved, you can use AC21 to change jobs, use AP to go travel.

So once 140 get approved, you can enjoy the same freedom of greencard, well, almost the same, am I right?
