1099 Income accepted on H1B...Advice

Please advice.

In the situation where one has accepted the 1099 income. Is this going to be a problem in the next steps of GC processiong i.e. I-140 and I-485

If yes, then what can be done now. Are there any options left?
If anyone knows more about this please pen down few words.

I also wonder whether it matter for an H1b holder to receive either w2 or 1099 as far as h-1 to be remain in status.
