10 yr Multiple entry vs 6 month B2 visa

Everytime my parents go for a B2 visa, they get a 6 month visa
while all my friends have got 10 year multiple entry visa for their parents.
I hate to have them go through all this visa hassle each time they
want to visit me.

Is there something specific that I need to do to get them a 10 yr
multiple entry B2 visa. Do I need to mention anything specific in the
letter to the consulate? Please advise.

If someone you know has got a 10 yr multiple entry visa, please
share specifics of what you stated in the letter to the consulate.
