10 year visitor visa for parents - any problems for re-entry?

Hi,

I know this is not the right forum for this question, but this is my favourite forum!

My parents got 10 year visitor visa in 2002. Does anybody know of any problems if they plan to visit this year?

Somebody scared me saying of the need of some fingerprinting at Chennai ... :eek:

And, also, anybody know of any good insurances I can get for them?

If they have a visa then they can enter

I am not aware of any finger printing before departure.As far as I know your parents are free to enter the US since they have a valid multiple entry visa in their passports. They will be FPed at the port of entry in the US which is standard practise now. Do not worry, they should travel without any worries.

I agree with saras76. Your parents have nothing to worry about reentering USA on tourist visa. As long as they stay for less than 6 months, they are fine. My parents are currently visiting on their 10-year tourist visa: this is the 4th time they are visiting. No problem at all!

They both above ppl are right,

Additionaly if ur parents have been stayed more than 6 months ever here, they should carry all approvals of their extentions. recently one thread shared at Port of Entry they were asked that they had approval to stay longer than authorized, unfortunatly they didn't carry that doc ,even they did had approved extention of last stay.

Its good Practice to carry all required doc.

Hello jamborees,

You have not to worry at all. We came back from Delhi and my Mon whose has 10 years of Visa came with us. This was her 2nd trip. At Port of Entry, they did take FP and a Photo. This was not there last time when she visited us in Aug 2002.

At Delhi airport, there were no issues at all.

So, dont worry. Absolutely there are no issues.

if someone has a 10 Yr multiple entry visa and how often can they come back. Like can they go out of the country to say Candada and come back in a few days. Will their I-94 get extended? Or they have to go to some place other than Mexico and Canada and for how long before they can come back?
