10 ways to reduce the GC anxiety and frustrations (not necessarily in the same order)

I am also in the same boat as you are. It worked for me. I hope it works for you too.

1) Walk 1 mile everyday.
2) Remind yourself, there is absolutely no calamity in life except illness and death of your near and dear. All the rest you could tackle.
3) Do one (selfless) good deed every week. Difficult, but try to make it as selfless as possible.
4) Do not watch TV while eating lunch or dinner. Prefer to have it at the dining table with your family or friends.
5) Make a well judged guesstimate of your approval date and then firmly believe that you'd be approved by that date. (Of course this only applies for the souls whose 600 days of wait is not over yet.
6) When the frustration gets way out of hand, do not sit in the house and frustrate your near and dear. Go to step 1.
7) In Lord's work sheet (may not be MS Excel) the sum total is always zero. To put this in plain English, do not get the feeling that you are being left out and you could never catch up. As an analogy compare life with the freeway. Some cars are flashy, some are fast, some reach their destination some do not :( , some cars with whom you wanted to race take an exit and leave that freeway altogether... etc. etc.
8) Premise number one: Life isn't fair, and then begins everything else.
9) Dream on, try to fulfill all of them, but don't expect everyone of those dream to fulfill.
10) Last but not the least, (and with no offense meant towards your respected parents) always remember that you are a winner right from the beginning. Champion, never forget, that it was YOU who made through competing with all those millions, right from the beginning.
You did come a long way and by golly will surely go a long way.

I have a variation for step 5 that works even better:

DOUBLE your estimate. That way, if it comes early (and doubling the estimate increases the probability of this greatly) its a bonus and you will be extra happy, and if it comes by your estimate, then you are just happy that it arrived on time, instead of the guy next to you who already pulled all his hair out (since he DIDNT double his estimate).

Bharity,
The analogy between life and traffic is something which I have always thought to be true and tell it to people while philosophizing about life. It just sounds so very surprising/ fulfiling that somebody else is thinking on the same lines today :)..
All the best.

Universe is not fair...

Paraphrasing from one of my favorite TV shows:

The Universe is not fair. Imagine how terrible it would be if the universe WERE fair, and all the bad things that happened to you were because you deserved it.

Just remember that, if everything in life was easy, words like dificult, hard, tough, and so on, did not exist. So, pray and be pacient.

bhartiy,

It was a real good one. I agree with almost all of your points. However, you left out one major points -
'Dont put up with a situation, when someone else's inefficiency results in you being pushed to the last row' - therefore, be part of Immigrationportal.org and see how you can contribute to the initiative, by being a volunteer, so many of them in future will not have to go through what we are going through.

thanks,

Great thoughts and inspirations !!!

Here's mine :

If everything else seems dim, always count all your blessings in life. Not all can go to this blessed country and begin a new life.

Take care all.

Bhagvad Gita

The Gita has a good one for trying times like these....

Even this will go away

I think of it all the time when my wife keeps whining away at me:D
