My colleague will be applying for the Asylum with USCIC within few months but we have question, he was visiting me alone without his family for 2 weeks last year in May, now he is coming together with his family this June and asking if these 2 weeks last year are counted towards the year when he must apply?
He left his home post USSR country from where he seeks protection in 2022 and been living for 3 years in one of european coutries that do not grant asylums and they may extradite people. Now he can not return to his home country and still afraid to remain in the country hes been temporarily living(he has no permanent residency there, just temp stay). The main reason why he hasnt applied a year ago is because he was looking to move his family here first, cause the process may take a while. Is that something that needs to be submitted with a case as an explanation or he has nothing essentially to worry about?
Also looking for reliable lawyer in Louisiana to represent should case go to the court.
