Hi,
My Parent's are here on Visitor's visa.
My Mother is having 10 years visa and
My father is having 1 year visa which is going to expire in Feb 2007(I-94 expire March 2007).
I am planning to get 6 more months extension. I can extend my mother's visa throught the regular process since she is having 10 year's visa
But my father's visa expires in Feb 2007, can I apply for the visa extension while he is here in USA?? Can they give only 1-94 extension??

SHould he has to go to India and apply for visa??

What is the best option??

Thanks

Your father (and of course mother too) can apply for B1/B2 status extension. They will get new I-94 on approval. Visa Stamp is only for entry.

Question for you: Even though your mother had 10 year visa, she got I-94 only for 6 months. Why? Beacuse Visa Stamp is for entry only.

As mentioned in the earlier post the duration you stay as determined by I-94 has little bearing on the window of entry as determined by the dates on visa stamp so your father should get the extension barring any other problems.

But one warning that next time your father visits he will need a new stamp. It may be difficult to get a new stamp if you extend
