About 5 years ago, my dad applied for americam visa in my native country American embassy and he was rejected. I am a US citizen and this year I filed I-130 for my dad, after about 6 months into filing my dad informed me that the name and date of birth he had on his passport 5 years ago when he applied for visa at the American embassy was different from what I have in my I-130 application. He is uneducated and does not have a record of birth. I used the date of birth I have always known for the I-130, the person who filled out his visa application 5 years ago used a different date of birth. I also used his first, middle and last name in my I-130 application, the person who filled out his visa application 5 years ago used his fourth and fifth names which were totally different from what I used.

Will this cause a problem when they call him for the I-130 application? I was told that they run finger prints which will match her finger print from 5 years ago and they can see that his name and date of birth does not match.
Any help on how best to handle this matter will be appreciated.
Should I withdraw my I-130 petition and strat all over again using the information he already used five years ago?

By the way the I-130 petition has already been approved and forward to the National visa center.

Without a birth certificate and ultimate way to prove which date is correct, you may be asked to do DNA testing to establish relationship.

How did the date of birth that is incorrect get on your father's old passport? What does the new passport say? If you can get one that has the right date which matches your I-130 date, you can easily explain that the previous one was a mistake.

Date of birth in the passport is not relevant. What is relevant is the date of birth in birth certificate.
He will need a birth certificate anyway. In case it is unobtainable he needs to prove it is actually unobtainable. Only then secondary proofs of birth could be accepted.
