“extend” status

If a TN may “extend” status by the mail, I need a new visa and travel outside the U. S. Which date will be shown on TN visa if the Visa is approved at POE?

if you renew a TN by mail, the expiry date on the new TN will be exactly 1 year forward from the expiry of your current TN.

If you renew by going to a POE, the expiry date will be 364 days forward from the date you went to the POE.

In terms of not losing days and keeping the same expiry day every year, the mail in petition is much better.
