After weeks of waiting after my interview at the local philly office, I was able to get my plastic card via snail mail. It took them almost 3 weeks to mail the card....that's fast!!!
Thank you so much for all of you who responded to my posting. It is definitely a great help...

Hey CC,
Did you receive any letter from philly office about your recent interview or any approval letter? Do you know if the status gets updated in INS website after the interview? Let me know. Thanks!

Just a worry wart
Hi Serta,
Thanks for the response. Yeah I guess you are right that I am suffering from that kind of syndrome. I also wonder why I didn't get any letter from philly office after they approved my case. They are definitely slow out there.

Inquiry
If I were you, I will call the 1800 number and request another inquiry if you have not received any letter from INS after 30 days. I think they will have to send 3 inquiries to the office where your application was sent to. Not until after the 3rd inquiry they are allowed to do...
plastic card
Thanks RDIP. I saw that posting too. Unfortunately, mine has not passed the 60 day period. I was just wondering if there's anyone who had their interview at the Philly Office and got their Plastic Card after 2 weeks. I'm hoping that it wouldn't take them 6 months to issue this...
Different letters of inquiry
Mariah Tan,
I think your case will be approved without any interviews. Although your friend might be asked for an interview because the letter says his or her case was assigned to an officer. It would be best if you could post the complete text in the letter of...
I have a question about the plastic card. If there's anyone in Philadelphia office who had an interview and received their plastic cards, please respond to this thread if you can. I've had my interview last March 18 and got approved.
1. How long does it take to get the plastic card via...
Transfer Letter
Inforeq,
I received a letter from INS around October 20th letting me know that on October 14th, they have transferred my case to Philadelphia local office for faster processing. I called my Lawyer and he told me that one reason they transferred it to a local office is that...
Similar case
Hi Inforeq/Curious,
My case is similar to your case. NSC transferred my case to philly office (where I currently live) for faster processing. After 60 days without notice of interview, I called the 1-800 number of INS and requested an update on my case. They sent the request...
If you change employers and your I140 is current and approved, INS will have no reason to deny your case just because you change employers.
Here is what my lawyer told me, the memorandum for AC21 states that, If I485 application has been pending for over 180 days, the employee will have the...
Changing employers
Hey guys,
I have a similar case and last week after my interview they approved my case. In my case, my I140 got approved eventhough I am not working for the company that sponsored my application. INS sent out an RFE asking my company to issue a letter saying that they...
Interview Experience
All in all, my interview went well. It took almost 30 mins from start to end. The good thing about having interviews with local offices is that, most interviews in local offices are based on marriage. They aren't as tough with cases that are based on employment. When...
I485 Approved!!!! Yey!

Whoaaaa!!! What A Relief!
Hey guys,
After a long wait (5 years)...my 485 got approved last friday (3/18/05). The interviewer is really nice although he asked me too many questions. In the end, he took my fingerprint and stamped my passport. Thanks for all your help guys...it's greatly...
Can someone explain?
Hi guys,
Thanks for the response. It is greatly appreciated. Can someone explain to me what AC21 is? I'm trying to figure it out but I'm having a hard time. My understanding about AC21 is that, because of the backlog of application, one can work for another company...
I need your opinion too AB
Hi all,
I think I have almost the same case as atlantabhopali.
1. Company A decided to start processing of my GC. My labor cert was approved. File for I140
2. Before I140 gets approved, I got laid off but Company A decided to continue sponsoring my GC...
When did you change your job?
Hey Nebraskan,
I was wondering when did you change your job. I think we may have the same case. Eventhough I left my other job (who sponsored my GC...I got laid off), they have decided to continue my application. I have also kept my lawyer until now. They...

If your previous company can provide you with a letter saying that they will hire you after your GC is approved, then I would go that route.
Response: Before the approval of my I140, they asked for RFE. Company sent a letter saying that they will hire me after I get my GC...
