I was interviewed today at San Jose office for Adjustment of Status and was approved and stamped (both mine and my wife's). Here is how it went. In a nutshell, it was much easier than convincing my neighborhood Subway guy to not put pickels on my sandwitch.
The wait:
We went there 15 minutes...
My company lawyer is charging top $$ to be with me for the 485 interview (@ San Jose office). Since mine is a straight forward case (no arrest, same employer all the way, salary > LC, etc.) I am thinking it might be OK to go alone without lawyer. Can anybody please adivse?
I just checked the USCIS web site and it says that a RFE has been issued on my 485 on 10/28.
My 140 LUD is 10/26 and 485 LUD is initially 10/26, then 10/27 and now 10/29. No change in 140 status (still says "taking 360-360 days ..."). 485 status says "RFE mailed ..."
Why would they issue...

My current H1 expires in about 10 days and H1 extension was filed on 9/8/04 at CSC. The lawyer has not yet received the receipt notices. Do you guys know if H1 receipt is required as proof of H1 application submission before current H1 expires?
Thanks.
