    Adpted child and N400 form

JoeF, Essentially you and I are saying the same thing. You are caught up in the words without seeing the context. You just won't admit it since you are so deep into this discussion now. And thats fine. Anybody who reads this thread will know that in every one of my messages, I have said...

    Adpted child and N400 form

JoeF, The OP mentioned twice in his original message that the child may come to the US. I KNOW adoption and bringing the child to the us are two different things - read my message again; I said that in my reply. I was answering in the context of the OP's message and the apparent intent to...

    Adpted child and N400 form

Besides, if the son goes back to his birth parents country, the birth parents will have to abide by the international adoption laws of the country they are in, which may or may not have age restrictions (most countries DO have age restrictions)

    Adpted child and N400 form

QUOTE=JoeF]No, that is not true. It IS true that one of the adoptive parents MUST be a US citizen to bring the child to the US. Check this out http://uscis.gov/graphics/services/index2.htm That is the requirement to bring an adopted child to the US. It does not prohibit adoption, though...

    Adpted child and N400 form

If thats the best you could come up with, heres something for you to ponder. First - for a LEGAL adoption by parents who are in the US of a child who is not in the US, one of the adoptive parents needs to be a US citizen. Clearly neither of you are. Permanent Residents can adopt...

    Adpted child and N400 form

I don't have any answers for your specific questions. I hope you get some help on this forum. I am just appaled at how you have abused and made a mockery of the concept of adoption. An adopted son is not a piece of furniture to be loaned back and forth as needs change.

What to take for oath ceremony

The oath letter asks me to bring the re-entry permit. SInce getting the GC, I have only made short 3-4 week trips out of the country. I never applied for a re-entry permit. So I am guessing this stipulation does not apply to me. What other documents should I take with me? Thanks all.

    Name check pending since October

ibm101 I would recommend calling the office of a senator or congressman and scheduling an appointment. I would also hire that lawyer you mentioned. You are going to spend thousands of dollars on adoption, whats a little more? I also agree with Rahul. You have enough grounds for a lawsuit...

    Anyone here from St. Louis?

I had my interview on May 5th. No Oath letter yet. I was told at the interview that they have an Oath ceremony the first Friday of every month and also on significant days such as Flag day and Independence day etc. Any feedback is appreciated.

    Problems with Naturalization Employment GC

I didn't have problems I had to be on "leave of absence" from the employer who sponsored my employment based green card. Coincidently my last day with that company was the day I was approved for the gc. It didn't affect my citizenship interview. I seem to have lucked out. I have passed the...

N400: Unusually long wait after interview

I remember someone saying they received oath on the same day as the interview If FBI name check is done after the interview, I don't understand how some district offices let the applicants take the oath at the same time as the interview. Also, I remember a post a few weeks ago, where if you...

    For IBM101 Re: International adoption

IBM101, Like you, we are waiting to start our adoption process from India. I have a question about NRI adoption and was wondering if you were NRI as well and wanting to pursue adoption from India. In any case, my question is this. We had heard that it is better for NRIs to have one...
