FBI name check can take a few days, or a few years.
If there is no "hit", FBI should finish the check within 90 days in most cases. However, it can take a few year if there is hit.
For my case, FBI has not finished the name check after 8 months or so.
140 can take much longer

As of 5/15/2004, no movement for I-140 EB2, no movement for I-485
My guess is that they are putting staff to processing some lucky new I-140/485 now, old applications will suffer much...
