take it easy I don't know about ur case, but recently when i went to LA distict office for my case status (thru' Infopass), i was sent to a room on 2nd floor. I'd to wait there for ~ 2 hrs & then the officer came with my file, told me that the case was good but just the background checks...

Update I did send my renewal application by mail. Went to ask about status of my case thru' infopass, Background checks are still pending but was told to EAD renewal can be done same day. So anyone looking to apply for EAD renewal at LA, first take an Infopass appoinment & apply right there.

At Infopass appointment on Dec 2nd, i was told that case is pending for FBI checking. The lady showed me a printout about the status which had my details. Relevant info was_ - Date case sent to FBI for name check - 15 March 04 - Date processed by FBI - 20 March 04 - Status - Pending
