vicky_usa: just my 2 cents ... i was in similiar situation few months back .my 140 was denied (but denial was not showing in the online status and we had only recvd the letter from USCIS.) and my lawyers field a appeal(290B) and luckily my appeal was approved(at the VSC center) within 60 days...

nagasng: i just showed my passport(with HI stamping) and the officer didnt ask anything more .He was very nice. :) But i did have with me all other documents related to GC and HIB just incase .. you should be fine with you valid H1B stamping on ur passport..

nagasng As long as you are on H1B (not used ur EAD) you can travel with it and re-enter. My 485 is pending and i just came back from india 2 days ago and i just used my valid H1B to re-enter . You should be fine .

linuxrox you should have a new rcpt number for 290B . (which says if you case is in the center or transferred to AAO..)

Well my company(lawyers) did respond to the RFE in time .(thought not sure if they sent the proper needed documents) u know how it works (they dont reveal us much..):( but like u rightly said right now hopefully the appeal will be considered

You probly would need a transit visa since you dont have a valid stamping .I beleive these days all the european hubs need a transit visa in tnat case Anyways it better to check with the consulate ppl also refer to this link...
