The FAQ on mumbai cosnulate's website clearly mentions that AC140 is available only for those cases where I485 was selected in I140.

there is nothing contradictory. the visa stamp in passport may have expired but as long as one has valid I-94 and H1 is valid there is no problem. If you want to travel you can always get another stamp at the consulate in your country.

Photos Guys, I was under the impression that side portraits are required for the interview and medical but according to the Mumbai consulate website http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/in3/wwwhphotorequire.html a front portrait is required. Is this a change or has it always been this way...

Received email from Mumbai Consulate today (10/10/2003), case number was included in the email.

According to some posts on this forum, anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks after receiving the case consulate will send an email to email address included in the cover letter. In this email they will say if they have accepted the case and include the case number if they have accepted.
