Hi Guys,
Thanks for the wishes.
We entered through SFO. Knew from this forum that there is a

Folks,
My interview at Mumbai Consulate went
smoothly. No surprises, nothing different
from what many people have already described in detail.
Thanks to all the folks who are so helpful
in answering question. I found out about

from this board...

Hey Amol,
Just wanted to let you know that AC 140 is
a very straight forward process. I did it
recently, you can find the list of required
documents on Mumbai Consulate website
under immigrant vis FAQ:
http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/in3/wwwhimmi.html#empcases
I do not have any direct knowledge but the link I have mentioned above says :
"We are accepting E3 cases that meet the above conditions on a more limited basis, where it is clear that the applicant is highly skilled. We would accord precedence to applicants who have already received H1-b...
Hi,
My case was accepted in the begining of Oct.
The FAQ on Mumbai cosulate web site
still says they are accepting AC140 cases
with I-824 fee reciept:
http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/in3/wwwhimmi.html#empcases
there is nothing contradictory. the visa stamp in passport may have expired but as long as one has valid I-94 and H1 is valid there is no problem.
If you want to travel you can always get another stamp at the consulate in your country.
Photos
Guys,
I was under the impression that side portraits are required for the interview and medical but according to the Mumbai consulate website http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/in3/wwwhphotorequire.html a front portrait is required. Is this a change or has it always been this way...

Since you last posted an update, the interview dates for November have been posted. Can you confirm if the date you were given matches the date posted on the website.
Thanks
According to some posts on this forum,
anywhere from 1 week to 6 weeks after
receiving the case consulate will send an
email to email address included in the
cover letter. In this email they will say if they
have accepted the case and include the case
number if they have accepted.
