Your status is AOS. I got university admission when I was still waiting for I-485 approval. I put "Adjustment of Status for Residency". When they questioned me, I sent them a copy of I-485 receipt notice. And, it was OK.
I found Congressman Lincoln Diaz-Balart's office is helpful. They helped me solve my EAD and AP problems. Their response was quick.

The best way is he gets stamp on passport in India and get his wife H4 visa to enter US.
Don't agree with hathwar.
Once you use AP to enter US, you give up your dual status. You can't use H1B any more. It doesn't matter with your EAD. So, be careful with this situation.
Your approval is just on the corner.
Your FP was 08/03 so your case may not have been approved yet but soon. Here are some points you can do.
1. Did you set up mail forwarding with post office? If not do so.
2. If it's convinient, contact your previous address's owner to forward your mails...
We are planning to go to Miami office for stamping next week. For my 3-year old son, do I have to bring him to Miami office for stamping too? Can I just bring his document and process for him?
