...Though i was interviewed even though i'm still in employment with sponsoring employer! Perhaps, it was because i'm from retrogressed country and claiming non-retro country based on country of birth and they wanted to confirm that. Congrats perm_eb2_wanted!!

I have seen something about educational evaluations discussed earlier on in this forum. Run a search, I'm not sure if that will be the solution though.

Interviewed on 5/17/07 and finally received I-551 stamp on passport! Immigration officer says that actual green cards would be processed 'manually' and so this could take up to a year for me to receive the physical green card.

Yup that is what my wife did in Jan this year. We walked in on a wednesday afternoon in newark ASC 1 month AFTER her appointment date and there were friendly and fast (we were the only ones there!). So i don't think there is a need for rescheduling (i believe there is a grace period of 60 days...

Update...... I received notice for the interview....will be in May. I researched on this and it seems those who file 485 as single and then get married after and add spouse as derivate 485 automatically triggers interview. What sort of questions are asked at the interview?

Approval notice should have it.

your paranoia is understandable... i was in the same situation not too long ago. It took 5 days for my RFE notice to get to my attorney... but yes it could take up to 15 days.

Thanks for your responses Ginnu and NathanSS It's now clearer why it takes that long...... i'll just have to be patient and wait. Also i guess we will know during the interview if our NCs are cleared or is there another way of checking on that?

Thanks Ginnu. So i guess even though it shows online on the USCIS website that the newark field office is processing 485s with receipt dates of Aug 23, 2006 (mine is Aug 14), it is still going to be a 3-5 month wait!
