My brother in law is coming for a business meeting in Canada for a week from India. His company is appying for that visa. I would like to invite him to USA. Can he self sponser for a visitor visa to USA based on canadian visa? Or do I need to sponser him or send just an inviation letter...

My father has 10 years multiple entry visa. He got in Jan 2004 and never visited USA, but this was before VISIT system was introduced. Can he visit now as he hasn't used the visa. Will he be entered in to the new system ? Please help !!!

check the last line of the of the card. My spouse's card has the full name in the last line (bottom most) and middle initial in the name. I think you may be fine if you have the full name at the last line.

You dont need a stamping again I was approved after an interview in the local office last year. The officer didnt approve me right away. So I got the welcome letter and the GC later. When I went to the local office after, that they said I can't be stamped with the welcome letter and I need 485...

I think immi officer at the port of entry may ask about employer. But still, he should be able to get in .....

It is possible to get extn after using ap. I have done it (and also my spouse). I entered in AP before and worked in h1-b. and got extn. of H1-B from vermont office after using AP. I applied H1-b by prem processing. This was in Sep'03. But to be on the safer side I had ead but never used it...

Thanks sadiq. I dont plan to get un emp benefits. But will the INS come to know if we get these. I have read in this forum that it is better not to apply for un emp benefits after getting GC. Any ideas ???

I gave the reason that they want to visit the other part of the country. "we couldn't visit all the places in six months due to ............." . try to write a letter using such points.

no it didnt change for me. They assigned me a new eac no. and sent the card. they kept the same A#.

Before 9/11 I didn't surrender I-94 when I travelled by road. They just checked visa and I-94 and passport while going and coming back. =

My opinion is re-entering with 6 months i94 may be hard. So 2nd extn. may the possibility. YOu will not get a new I-94 when you travel by road.
