    official notice My lawyer told me that i should take the official approval notice for passport stamping. I think waiting for a few more days should be ok rather than take the risk. What's a few more days compared to the years of waiting before approval?!

    some answers City is Seattle. My status was "Fingerprint results rec'd and processing has been resumed on your case" for a long time. I think it remained the same since March 02 right upto today. Hope this helps.

    Correct That's what i've heard too from an immig lawyer. Calling frequently is not going to help your case anyway and worst may harm it. On the other hand, calling the automated number to check status should be ok.

    related question I had a related question. I have applied for my I-485 in Sep '01. Meanwhile, my I-94 has expired in Dec '01 since my 6 years of H1 was up. Now, i'm planning to travel on AP. Would the expired I-94 be an issue? Appreciate if the experts weighed in on this. Thanks.

    Newbie question: I filed for my I-485 in Sep 01. My LIN number is 02-002-XXXX. I noticed that LIN numbers of most folks here starts with 01. What gives? Any insights into the numbering scheme is appreciated.
