I applied I-130 for my parents in 2001 two days after becoming a US Citizen. It took them all of three years to get the files approved (the excuse was 9/11). My priority date was Sept. 05, 2001. Finally this Jan the files got moved to Nebraska and got quickly approved.
Now, we have come to...
Wow. Over a 100 posts and you don't know an answer to that? Surprising.
You will have to wait till you become a US Citizen (5 years + processing times of Citizenship) and then file I-130 for your parents and wait some more. I have filed for my parents in Spet 2001 and am still waiting so...
STILL STUCK AT 6/15/01. HOW CAN CA PROCESS FEB 2003 and TSC 6/15/01 ???
I am failing to understand this. I have written to both my Senators (one of 'em is going to be running for President in 2004 I think and guess whether he is getting my vote or not? ) without any good answer and I am...
I dunno why Sachin here called me Seabang but the TSC morons are still stuck at 6/15. I thought the New BCIS would improve things but I guess I was WRONG.
Angela,
The 485 process is if your parents are here and you file their I130, since they are here already, they need to get their status adjusted. So, you have to file I485.
Since you have filed for your parents who are in your home country, no filing the I485 and there fore no wait for...
If it makes you feel any better go look at TSC processing times. My date is 9/5/2001 . So, how do you think the wait makes me feel?
BTW, once you file for immigration, your parents or mine for that matter cannot apply for any temporary visa to visit. They will get denied every time they apply...
Wil, it has been stuck at 6/15 since June 15 2003. Since then it has not moved which takes it to be stuck since last 4 months. It was stuck at 6/8 for a long time too.
I wrote letters to both the senators of my state. Once said I promise to allocate more resources and since 9/11 processing...
Re: where get the info. of CA center?
Here. http://www.immigration.com/processing-times/ca.html it says they are doing 2/3/2003 does it not? Now go look at Texas. It will say 6/15/2001. WTF. Everybpdy pays the same fees and we who fall under TSC get treated like crap!!
Still stuck at 6/15/01. It seems they have not touched a single I130 petition since Feb of this year and then they keep complaining about the huge backlog when you finally reach them. What I am failing to understand is dammit if you don't work at all how the heck do you suppose the backlog is...
I too agree with Jim and Sachin.
If you are a greencard holder, you do not have right to bring your family here. So, if you decide to get married after knowing that there is no way to bring the wife here why is the INS at fault?? I know that I don't have this problem so I might be off here...
OK. Got a reply from both the senators from my state. The morons said that the processing takes longer after 9/11. Well how the heck does CA center process Feb 2003 and the morons in TSC are stuck at June 01???? I don't get it. I guess its my fault that I wound up in a state that is under the...
Texas Service Center. Is there an end in sight???
Cali people are processing Jan and Feb 2003's I130 petitions and the TSC morons are doing June 01 since the past 1 year. Is there an end to this?
Re: DvPatel and Kristine please help
An unusual question ideed.
You are correct in saying that Ballantyne and Matthews are good places. Unfortunately, I do not know of apartments that have a lot of Indians in those places. I lived in North Charlotte, University area before buying my house...
Now its stuck at 6/18. I did go to my local senator by email. He sent me an email back that they were aware that Texas INS was having problems and were working hard to give TSC more resources.
BTW the senator is John Edwards of NC. He aint getting my vote when he runs for...
I live in NC and hence I had to file at TSC. The TSC lazy bums are not doing anything with the petitions except crying that there is a huge backlog. So, all I can do is wait and wait and then wait some more. They are processing 6/18/01 I think and I am at 9/5/2001. At this rate, my parents will...
Kristine,
You will eventually get a receipt. I see that you are in Charlotte. Welcome to the wonderful world of waiting.
I have been waiting for my parents' petitions for the last two years which falls under the same category as yours which is I130 parents and spouse of US Citizens...
