Because of this market situation I was thinking of keeping a part-time backup job with my EAD. I got my EAD from my present employer and I am still working with them. Can a work for another employer - part time? Is that illegal? I need to go with W2 or 1099? Thx in advance.

Just call INS and change the address. It will not afect your GC.
