Hello:
I want to sponsor my parents for green card. I am US citizen, originally Indian.
Unfortunately, they do not have proper birth certificates or marriage certificate.
Please could you share your experiences if you have had this situation and your solution. If affidavits have to be...
Hi:
On the I130 for my parents I have the understanding that I have to file a separate I-130 for each parent. Do I still have to include the spouse and children’s names in #17?
I am trying to understand whether USCIS wants to know just to have the information or will they treat the names...
Hi:
I want to file for green card for my parents. They are Canadian citizens living in Toronto and were born in India. I live in Ohio.
Please could someone tell me the following:
1. How long does I-130 processing take currently?
2. After I-130 I have heard the NVC will transfer their...
Thanks for responding. Your view gives me the impression that people doing CP should have no trouble traveling to US, but the general experience of Indians has been that once they apply I-130/CP their visitor visa is invalidated and they are not permitted to enter USA until they get their green...
Hello:
My parents are Canadian citizens and live in Canada. If I file a I-130/CP for them will they no longer be able to travel to the US until they complete the immigration process? Is the TN facility invalidated in their situation?
I have noted elsewhere that parents with Indian...
SS card
There is a procudure detailed online:
http://www.ssa.gov/online/ss-5.html
It also requires the certified copy -- my lone copy is now at the passport office so I will have to wait to update social security when my passport comes back (hopefully with my cert cp).
hehehe...
Local court can certify copies from naturalization court?
Hi,
is it possible to take the certified copy (single piece) that I received at the oath ceremony to the local court and ask them to give me more certified copies? I was thinking that the local court might say that they are no...
Hello all:
I changed my name at naturalization and at my oath ceremony I received 1 certified copy of the name change order.
I am now in name change hell -- there are so many places to change my name and some of the places I have to mail in the official certified copy and they will hold...
The office is visible from University Ave and is in a strip mall. Says something like INS service center on the board outside.
Appointment was scheduled for 10 am. I arrived about 9:20 am. The INS agent at the entrance asks for your appointment notice, GC and driver license. She asks you fill...
FYI, my info

Hello all,
I have heard often that when a person gets a B2 visa even for 10 years, they are permitted at the most 6 months. Does this mean:
1. 6 mths per visit?
2. 6 mths total stay per calendar year?
3. 6 mths total stay in the trailing 12 months?
Or does it mean something else?
Thanks.
Which office to apply to
Drarmageddon,
Congratulations on your fast processing. The guide to naturalization says N-400 for Colorado residents should be sent to N(ebraska)SC. So I am curious about why you chose to send it to the local Denver office? I live in Minneapolis and would also...
Dont worry, most of the INS types sound like fascists, so I wouldnt be surprised if they are all card carrying NRA members. You will be in good company at the interview.
Twin cities naturalization tracker
The processing times from the USCIS site only show the processing date and then only for I- applications. There is no info for N-400 (please prove me wrong by posting a link). Its not terribly useful for someone trying to get a feel for recent experiences...
Hello:
In part 7 of N-400 we are to itemize all out of US travels. I have recorded quite a few of them, but there are many niggling weekend trips to Canada I have no record of. In fact I can even recall a few trips that US immigration has not stamped on my passport.
So my question is: how...
Hello:
I am sponsoring my mother. The I-130 requires a supporting documentation of my birth certificate, but it is missing for several years and the office in Coimbatore will not issue another one - in fact they have provided a letter in the past stating so much.
From the I-130...
Hi:
I was perusing the processing dates for NSC at:
https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/Processtimes.jsp?SeviceCenter=Nebraska
It says that the date for I-130 for sponsoring parents is Oct 03, 2003, which seems out of whack for 2 reasons:
1. the other service centers show a close...
