Changing Address Between Interview and Oath

Witness for Passport? This may seem like a stupid question, but do I need a witness when applying for my passport? I've scheduled an appointment with the regional office as I am traveling in less than 2 weeks, and I just want to make sure of one thing. I know in Canada when renewing your...

Now a US Citizen!!! Big Thank You to You All!

I'll do my best to help out, but I'm certainly not as knowledgeable as you guys. I'll be applying for my passport soon as I have a trip coming up and all the other details will be taken care of very soon. Whew - feels good man. For the Chicagoans out there it took me from July until today to...

Changing Address Between Interview and Oath

Ok. That seems like the easiest way to do it then. Is there an extra fee for this type of service?

Changing Address Between Interview and Oath

No, I'm just traveling to Canada. How are you able to pick up the passport rather than have it mailed? If I have that option it would make things go more quickly. I basically have 3 weeks to get my passport, so I'll bring my proof of travel and ask to have it expedited. Should that suffice?

Changing Address Between Interview and Oath

Same-Day/Next-Day Passport Services I will be applying for a passport the same day as my oath - January 17th. My trip is scheduled for February 10th. On the USCIS website it says that the trip must be within 2 weeks. I am still eligible to apply for same-day/next-day passport services?

Changing Address Between Interview and Oath

Changing Address Before Applying For Passport Well, I had my interview today and I passed! I will be receiving my naturalization certificate next week. I want to apply for my passport on the same day, as I have a trip planned for February. My lease is ending at the end of this month, but my...

Changing Address Between Interview and Oath

My current lease ends at the end of the month and I'll be moving to a new place. My interview is scheduled for January 10th, and depending on how quickly my oath letter arrives, this shouldn't be an issue. However, if it doesn't arrive in time, I will have left my current apartment. Can I simply...

Under 1 Year but Over 6 month Rule - Secondary Evidence Needed

Thanks. I've gotten everything else on the list of secondary evidence that I would need, so I didn't want this one thing to trip me up. My interview is on the 10th and I'm getting really anxious. Just want everything to go smoothly and you guys have been a big help. Thanks again.

Under 1 Year but Over 6 month Rule - Secondary Evidence Needed

Missing 2008 Tax Form As I was requesting my father's 2008 tax form from the CPA, I was informed that my father did not list me as a dependent in 2008. I was out of the country, on the 11-month trip, during that time. Prior to 2008 I had never filed taxes on my own and my father had always...

Under 1 Year but Over 6 month Rule - Secondary Evidence Needed

Tax Forms As far as the tax returns go, I'll be asked to present ones from 2006-2010. From 2006-2008, I was listed as a dependent on my father's tax returns. Do I need to present a photocopy of the entire return, or simply the part that lists me as a dependent?

Does (1) have to be originals, or would photocopies suffice?

Under 1 Year but Over 6 month Rule - Secondary Evidence Needed

As to Big Joe's response about the 4 main criteria for secondary evidence, how exactly do I show that my family has maintained the same residence and that I have had full access to the house? What sort of proof would I need for that, or do I simply answer yes to those questions?

Under 1 Year but Over 6 month Rule - Secondary Evidence Needed

Well, I still filed, but through my father. I was only 22 at the time and did not have a job, and the little income I had abroad was definitely not worthy of filing on my own. The first year that I worked full-time at home, 2009, I filed on my own and have done so since then. Any thoughts as...

Under 1 Year but Over 6 month Rule - Secondary Evidence Needed

No, the first time I filed taxes on my own would have been 2009. In 2007 and 2008 I was still listed as a dependent on my father's tax return which I will be bringing as secondary evidence. The amount of money I made abroad from tutoring was negligible - would have been under $3000 most likely...

Under 1 Year but Over 6 month Rule - Secondary Evidence Needed

Under 1 Year but Over 6 month Rule - Secondary Evidence Needed

Ok, the car is paid off and I can get the original registration, current one, and the title. Would that be enough evidence or would I still have to present bank statements to show the payments? I'd rather not show bank statements if I don't have to.
