Got Interview Letter
Both my wife and I got our interview letters yesterday (June 07, 2007). Our interviews are scheduled an hour apart on August 30, 2007. Rest of the timeline in my signature.
Thanks boatbod... I will keep people posted on what happens. I might try and talk to an attorney here to make sure I cover all my bases before the interview.
I have a friend who applied around early September, and he got his interview letter last week - interview is in late March.
So I think you might get something in the next few weeks...
boatbod,
Thanks for your reply. What evidence do you think would be compelling... something beyond a letter from work?
Also, it was my impression that the Continuous Residency Requirement is an "absolute" requirement... is there room for subjective interpretation here?
My case is similar to what many have posted here. My wife and I both work for a US based multinational, and they asked us both to travel abroad to another country (not my home country) to help out on a project for 3 months. We locked up our house and left on a 3 month visa.
But...
I am a PR, and am planning to travel to my home country in January for a month.
I heard from a friend that on reentry, my passport should be valid for at least 180 days... my passport expires early June.
Can someone familiar with the rules confirm this for me?
Thanks in advance.
Filing before PD becomes current
The #1 reason for denial is filing 485's before your Priority Date becomes current -- I have seen maybe 5/6 denials before for this reason.
Folks,
This is for a friend of mine. He applied for his I-140 in May ; and followed it up with his 485 about two weeks ago.
Now he has been laid off.
What happens to portability and AC21 here? Any experiences?
PS : His I140 has'nt yet been approved ...
First up, sorry for posting it in this forum -- I am doing it, because this appears to be more active than the visitor visa forums :)
A couple of friends from India want to visit the US, and they want me to send them affidavits of support for their tourist visa.
Is it acceptable for one...
We got our approval notices yesterday (3/11). Surprised us, coz we were\'nt expecting anything until late this week.
(We had a BIG stroke of luck, when my company decided to file our I140/485 in CSC instead of TSC, although we come under TSC because they wanted all applications to be...
AOS approval will get forwarded
Atleast it did for a friend of mine who moved. (His approval was from TSC though). So be patient for a few days before you go about doing something.
No Title
I am not sure dude. But a friend of mine moved, and his change of address to INS did not go through. His approval notice did get forwarded by the post office to the new address -- so I assume that the envelope did not say RSR. I can check with him more if you want and let you know...
