LIN number is assigned based on Notice Date It looks like the LIN number is assigned based on ND. Given so many dates like PD, RD, ND, FP etc, this LIN number maybe what INS is really using as the priority of those cases.

it\'s not necessary that you were fooled by anybody I never called an IIO. But I\'m not surprised at different people tell you things that sound different. Depends on how you define "assigned to an officer", it\'s not necessary that you were fooled by anybody. My 2 cents.

I heard the same thing I also heard the AVM says that my application was received on Mar 16, which indeed is the notice date. I don\'t know whether this happens for everybody. Presumably the receive date on I485 receipt should be the accurate one.
