Got there 7:30 AM. A few people ahead of me. Went to 10th floor as stated in approval notice. After 15 minutes wait (along with other folks), was directed to go to 8th Floor. There we were redirected back to the lobby to room 102.
There everything was very organized. Small queue. Got to...
Does the courtesy copy of I-485 approval suffice, or does one have to take the original mailed to the attorney for the purpose of passport stamping ? Also, can someone advise me on how the process works in New York ?
Thanks.
EB1 (ea); 11/8/99 ND; 3/8/01 FP; NO RFE; Approved on 4/3/01 per AVM. Was expecting approval in May or June. Seems like the lull in approvals we saw the past several weeks is now being harvested. Wish the remaining waiters all the very best for expedited approval.
This is a terrific forum...

Thanks for the post. Was planning on calling VSC myself. Like you EB1 but with an early 11/99 RD/ND. FP done on 3/8. What really bugs me is that we don\'t even see RFEs for folks like us, which would indicate some validity to the 4-6 week timeframe for approval. This (485) is perhaps...

My guess is that Oct\'99 + prev. pending cases due to visa unavailability should largely be cleared within March/April. We should start seeing Nov\'99 approvals by late April/early May (which would be consistant with a 540 day approval process) & then move rapidly from there (given...

I am not sure what this implies. Should we read this as intimation of further delays for Ind/Chn 485s (10/99 - 3/00 ND) post their FP scheduled mainly in th emonth of March ? Or, should we read this as intimation of delay for non Ind/Chn 485s given the avalanche of Ind/Chn 485s that...

As best as I can tell, EB category has no impact on I485 processing time. Sure, it does keep the PD current at all times, but beyond that one is in the same queue as everyone else. I am EB1 myself with a 11/99 ND and have yet to do the FP (next week).

Could you tell us what your EB is (i.e. 1,2,3)? Additionally, is there something noteworthy about your case, i.e. changes jobs, company name change etc. ?

not clear at all if all the cases in the timeframe you suggest are being transferred. in fact, all we know is that most have recieved FP notices and no more.
i am surprised though that a 2000 RD 485 has been "preliminarily processed" and transferred. does that mean that...

Labor Day ?!!! I was hoping for Tax Day (to balance out the misery of handing hard earned dollars to the government !!). Ah well, why worry over stuff one cannot control ?
Thanks for your reply.

things are moving in any event, which is a good thing. do you know if the 485 processing continues even as one waits for the FP date (say a month away) ? does one carry on with recieving RFE etc. while the FP thing is being taken care of seperately ? If so, then things don\'t look too bad.
