I see that a lot of people who don't live in the US get their letter from Sweden. Does it mean that KCC has an office in Sweden in addition to the one in the US?

no, unfortunately they ask that it is the employer who has to fill in this form (DS 7002) and come up with a training plan. The sponsor only provides the DS 2019 form. http://www.ciee.org/trainee/newhc/General_Internships_training.asp

In your cover letter and resume, have you asked for training or a job? I'm currently sending plenty of cover letters and resumes to find an employer and I'm asking for training since the J1 visa is for training. I say "paid traineeship" for up to 18 months. But I haven't receive any positive...

wow I'm suprised by all the people who got selected on their first or second attempt! I've already tried 6 or 7 times and never got selected. But there is still hope for this year, I'm from the EU.
