HI Everyone!
I just became a US citizen (july 31st)and prior to that,I had already submitted an I-130 form for my wife at thesame time I was submitting my N-400(march 2008). Her visa for entry was J-1(student exchange visitor and not subject to 212(e)). She renewed her stay in the US once,and...

HI TripleCitizen!
Thanks soo much for the enlightment!
I checked her passport and it says "bearer is not subject to section 212(e). Two year rule does not apply"....

Please advice and give me your input on how i shall proceed...

Hi everyone!.
First off thanks to everyones's opinion on my past questions..My situation that I saw a potential problem was that I was registered to vote in error when I first arrived in the US 5 yrs ago.

Bobsmyth -
You got this right!!! Photo ID...(state ID or D.License)s

HI Boatbod!.
You nailed this one headon!!!...thanks for proving the info...so this makes it possible for me to even use out of state ID(which I would not to be on the safe side not to delay my application)...
I think one could present out of state license but it will raise the question if the applicant is a bona fide domicile of the state...?hence,might result to the officer asking for more prove of resident....
>>I might be wrong, but I think passport even issued by a foreign coutry will be...
>>OK, what if somebody doesn't drive and doesn't have a drivers license?
My answer is: they would present their State Issued ID as prove of identity(whic h is a Govt.issued ID..right?)
>>Why not to bring GC and passport as valid IDs and a lease contract as a proof of residence?
If you got...
I am sort of aware of your explanations about how residency works,my situation here is strictly to proving identity (with a govt issued ID)during the time of interview, without running into the risk of delaying my application because of residency issues.......Here are my questions...
1.Can I...
Would it matter if its a DL or State ID?..
Thanks soo much Guys!...
technically, isnt a Govt issued ID(miliarty, state id,state D.L,e.t.c)a valid ID to present at the interview?...
But I will take you guys advice and get a local state ID..Because I would have to use my current DL to claim...
I can also prove to them that my current resident is temporary since my employer letter states thesame thing that I will be a grad student reseacher staring...XXX till XXX dates...so it will not really makes sense to change driver license to every state you move to even though one will be...
As for prove of residency in my DO,I do have a lease as prove that i stayed for 90 days here before I applied..(I was aware of this which is why I waited till I stayed for 90 days at my new address)...I have also looked around USCIS and did not find anything about one should have the state...
I have an Interview for July.I noticed that most people get asked about Green Card/ID at the interview, does anyone have any experience with showing an out of state driver license?...
