You can very well leave the employer after having the PP stamped. Some of my friends did that with no problem what so ever. Since you are on bench, your employer should be more than happy to let you go. Go ahead and find a new employer.
GC gurus...please help!! A friend of mine got hsi I140 approved recently under EB3. His PD is in late 1999 and chances of that becoming current in near future is pretty remote. He has following questions:
1) Can he switch to another cmpny and start his processing under EB2 but still keep his...

While your frustration is understandable, hope it helps you to know that there are people still waiting for the I-485 approval even though they started their processing long before you did. I am also an example. My PD was March 1996 and I got 2 RFEs(1st for Paycheck/W2 and 2nd for...

Cool Dude 2000-- I got mine approved and stamped long time after yours. I got my Plastic Card on Jan 21st. Here are my details:
PD 3/96, 485 RD/ND 5/99, RFE 140 Amend approved 10/00, 485 approved 11/21/00, Passport Stamped on 11/29/00. What happened to your case??

How come you took so long to file for your I-485 when your PD is March 96?? Mine was also March 96 and I filed when it became current in May 1996 and so did all my friends?? Just curious.

VSC stinks now. It used to be fastest. Not anymore. All my friends who filed for their GC long after me at CSC/ TXC have got it approved. It\'s unfortunate.

Did your lawyer send the copy of I-140 approval notice to VSC?? My lawyer did that and I gort my approval within couple of weeks. Incidently, my I-140 amendment was approved on 10/29/2000 and I-1485 approved on 11/21/2000.

As far as information from IIOs is concerned, trust me, them saying "it has been assigned to an officer already" or "it will take 2-4 months" or blah-blah doesn\'t make any difference. Keep in mind that they have very limited access to the INS system and they just...

I didn\'t mean that calling IIOs is going to sow down the process. It was my observation that thaey aren\'t of much help in most of the cases. But, the situations you have suggested, it does seem reasonable to keep them. I understand the pain and suffering brother..I waited for almost...

I agree with you. They are not of much help in probably 99.9% of the times you call them. You will get the same 2-3/4-6 weeks answer or even worse. On the other hand, having waited for so long and seeing others getting through with the same dates does frustrate and triggers one to call...

Do ask your lawyer to send the copy of I-140 amendment approval notice to VSC ASAP. My lwayer did the same and I got my approval after that. Sending the copy triggers VSC to open your 485 file again. VSC is not that automated, you know!!

You are right. You don\'t need her to be there that early. You can be there for her. Make sure she is there just before the door opens so that she could go in with you and get the token(depending on which INS office you go to).
