    Very quick questions about interview

You're going to be together in the same room for the interview, but you're going to be interviewed "seperately" - meaning that the interviewer will ask each of you individual questions. When you come to the waiting room on the second floor, make sure to drop off your interview letter at the...

F-1 student and marriage to USC

The USCIS website (uscis.gov) has a whole section on "Laws&Regulations." The actual application forms regularly make reference to "Title 8, Code of Federal Regulations (8 CFR) and its chapters, subchapters, and parts. I doubt you will find what you are looking for under only one specific...

    Any March Filers Out There

Interview Experience Time to revive this thread! We had our interview yesterday: Approved! We got to USCIS at around 9:20 AM, the interview was scheduled for 10 AM. After passing security at the entrance, we proceeded to the waiting area at the second floor office where several...

Month of MAY filers, here is your thread

I am really no expert in this field, but looking at the instructions for the I-131 (AP) form, I would say you need the AP document to travel. Here is an excerpt from the instructions (can be found here): NOTE: If you are in the United States and wish to travel abroad, you do not need to apply...

Month of MAY filers, here is your thread

If you have an H1B stamp (valid beyond your return date) in your passport, you do not need AP. You can leave and return on the H1-B. If you travel on AP, i.e. you enter the US again on AP, you give up H1B status and become a Parolee (which, I believe, means that you need EAD to be able to work...

    Any March Filers Out There

Congratulations!! Great news! :) I am happy that the interview went well - I have no doubt that the bc will also go smoothly for you. It seems that in our little "race" you have a major headway right now. No news from CIS since the fingerprinting for me.... oh well! :o

San Jose Tracker - Through USC marriage

Just found this thread again. See my timeline below. Looking at the processing times, the USCIS info, and some other sources (e.g. trackitt), SJ seems to be among the DOs with a little longer waiting times. Guess it's all those Silicon Valley people applying... ;)

    Driver's license question

It's valid for five years. So unless they changed that within the last year, which I doubt, and provided you pass the traffic laws test ;), you should be good until 2013.

    Driver's license question

No problem at all. See the CA DMV website for further info here: http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/dl_info.htm#2500 I would recommend taking as many documents with you as possible. Not sure what they will ask for (SSN and ID/passport are usually sufficient), but while I was still on OPT back in the...

Hello all, newbie who needs help!

For driving alone you can use the Swedish DL, not for ID purposes however. Some states do not even recognize the international driving permit (for example, California doesn't). You might want to check the DMV website of the state you're in/moving to.

Serious question to TheRealCanadian on I-130

I do think that Nairobian's posts can be annoying at times but at least they're funny. However, his thread here caused me to note a recent USCIS Press Release which informs everybody that the Lockbox was moved to a different address. See Press Release here...
