I got my passport 2 days ago, pretty darn quick I may say. I applied for with Expedited Service and got it just 8 days later!! holy cow!. The passport arrived first, and the certificate 2 days later. I applied through a "Clerk of Court" office in my county, had to pay an extra $25 bucks to do...

    Tampa FL - N-400 Timeline

Thank you joopdog. I had a pretty straight-forward case, the IO was never suspicious of anything nor was I nervous at any time. There's an oath for 8/14 and another one for 9/21, hopefully they can squeeze me in the August oath and get this done. Do you know how long does the Tampa DO usually...

    Tampa FL - N-400 Timeline

Successful interview at Tampa DO. I had a successful interview experience at the Tampa DO yesterday. Here's how it went: Got there at 8:50 am, there were people outside waiting, someone knocked the glass door and a security officer opened up, I don't know if they leave the door closed all...

    Tampa FL - N-400 Timeline

Updated my Signature, I'm also in the Tampa DO queue for an interview. My interview is scheduled for the 3rd week of July. This is my 2nd N-400 attempt. The 1st one I was advised by the IO (during the interview) to withdraw my application since I hadn't met the continous physical presence...

    N-400 Certified Priority Mail

I think it might have been sent to the wrong address. In the "Guide to Naturalization" there are 2 addresses posted: 1) USCIS Lockbox Facility USCIS P.O. Box 299026 Lewisville, TX 75029 ...and.... 2) Private Courier (non-USPS) Deliveries: USCIS Attention: N-400 2501 S. State Hwy...

trips over 6 mos - interview approaching..

I had exactly the same amount of time when I applied for Citizenship back in March 2007. During my interview the officer even told me that 3yrs 11mos. was not even close to having 5 years continuous residency and she even told me when I should be applying and suggested me to withdraw the...

    Approved! Continuous Residency OK.

Well, going back to immigrateful's original thread context, him and I had kind of a similar case (please refer to http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=259484 for mine). I noticed that he did mention the fact that he had a relative with an illness, I never did that. Could it be...

    Reapply for Citizenship after denial

JT12, let me ask you a simple question? were those 2 trips to Colombia the only 2 trips you made to that country or did you have more trips to Colombia? The reason I ask you is because unfortunately Colombia is one of those places in the world that are labeled as "unsafe" even though it may not...

Withdrawal submitted and processed, but no notice yet!

I sent my petition for a withdrawal sometime around the 2nd week of December 07. The circumstances for the withdrawal can be found in this thread ( http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=278616 ). I requested an Infopass 3 months later and was told by a clerk at the DO that it that...

USC rejected - what to do next ?

Something similar happened to me. But the IO focused on having me provide her with any proof that I was living in the U.S. during the time I was away. Check out this thread, it's interesting: http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=278616 The only thing you can do next is wait.....

    Simple questions about trip listing....

Some of my trips outside the 5 years were for 2 or 3 months at a time, never over 6 months. Now, the question is, right now the total amount of days outside the US in the last 5 years of Continous Residence total 16 days, could those trips outside the 5 years affect the IO's decision?

    Simple questions about trip listing....

On part VII Section C. you are asked to list all trips outside the US of more than 24 hours since becoming a LPR. If you don't have, simply don't remember, can't find information or produce evidence about your past trips, specially if they were 6, 8, 10 or 12 years ago like in my case, what is...

    Very interesting 12/2007 Interview Experience

Thank you Huracán. I actually never got denied and this was my very 1st application. As my post said, I was offered the "alternative" to withdraw which I did after the interview and so far (even though I haven't received any letter yet) I have been told by USCIS that my application was formally...

    Very interesting 12/2007 Interview Experience

You're welcome. Wether you withdraw or get denied, there is no prejudice whenever you reapply again unless there is something serious that may affect your status as a LPR or if you don't meet the requirements for naturalization.

    Very interesting 12/2007 Interview Experience
