What I know is that, if you are out for less than 6 months, you dont need a reentry permit. If it is 6-1 yr, then they might do additional questioning. Since you have applied, I dont think there should be any problem. My lawyer told me that I dont need one if I am not out for more than an year...

I also saw LUD changes on my 485 receipt numbers for many days after the approval. Just got the card today, it was approved on 6/28. Last LUD 7/6

I dont know, but I have seen the same thing for other members of this forum. If you are working for the same empoyer, you neednt worry about LUD on 140 in my opinion. It could be that they are processing your 485s too.

FP notices are pretty much disconnected with the approval process of 485 when your application is pending ( That is what I have been seeing). I saw people getting fp notices within 2 wks of filing 485 and for some later. The LUD are related to your 140 approval, it is not unusual for the LUDs to...

On the same subject, what happens if the employer lays off the GC holder right after they get the GC? Are they in violation? It is the same thing on the other side, right?

More info: Your phone numbers are correct... I think CSR always picks up first.. they dont have much access... then they escalate to IO... and I think service request is raised by CSR only You should be very close... dont loose patience....

You could ask them to let you talk to an immigration officer for details or say you need to raise a service request since it so much outside the processing timeframe. In my case it was easy since my receipt number wasnt in their system... so they would escalate themselves....

Devdas, I think the receipt date should be before your approval date for the follow to join case - I think thats what you did. If you have receipts of mailing the documents, or any other information, keep them with you so that you have some proof that you have send in your wifes application...
