    InfoPass in Different State

Just as a follow-up in case somebody has the same issue. I scheduled an InfoPass with my local immigration office (on the InfoPass site when I made the appointment there was an exact category for my situation i.e. temporary green card in passport is just about to expire and still haven't...

    InfoPass in Different State

Correct, I still haven't received my physical plastic green card. Every time I call Customer Service at 1-800-375-5283 I get an answer that all they know is what I can check on uscis.gov myself that my case is received and pending. That's all. If I ask them is there any action item on my side...

    InfoPass in Different State

Thank you very much for your answers. Finally I managed to schedule an appointment with InfoPass in my local Atlanta office (April 27th was the earliest...). I'll try to find out what's going on with my green card there and if I won't succeed I'll write to my senator and congressman, exciting :)...

    InfoPass in Different State

Hi, My temporary I-551 in my passport is about to expire (I have 4 weeks left). I tried to schedule an appointment using InfoPass but it says "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back again later." I live in Georgia which...

    physical green card

Good for you :) Is there anybody who didn't receive his/her physical green card within a year so had to ask for an extension? How it can be done? I tried to schedule an infopass but "At this time, there are no information appointments available for the office in your area. Please try back...

    physical green card

For me it's really taking forever. My wife was the primary applicant, we entered the country in May 2008. She received her SSN and plastic green card within a couple of weeks. I already had an SSN because I had an H1-B and I still haven't received my plastic card. My temporary I-551 in my...

    Assets

They consider you as a family at the interview. My wife was the primary applicant and she's been a 'housewife' with an H4 visa (she wasn't allowed to work) so all the W2s, paychecks, bank accounts, letter of employment, everything was under my name. It was no problem at all.

Renting an apartment w/o credit and job

When I first went to the US with H1-B I didn't have SSN or credit history either. Maybe I was just lucky but they let me rent a nice apartment in a gated apartment complex in a very good neighborhood. I had to leave 1 month worth of security deposit but that was all. It's in Georgia, north...

    Tax Transcript

Just for the record, I received the tax transcript today. Pretty fast. Or maybe it is the one I requested in mail 4 weeks ago :)

    Tax Transcript

Makes me a bit uneasy though that if they didn't receive my 4506 form then who did :S I shouldn't have mailed it with USPS... Too bad.

    Tax Transcript

I called them :) So if anyone interested, they haven't received my mail so they ordered a new one. I shall receive it in 7-15 days. And they could already provide a transcript for 2007. I filed early :)

    Tax Transcript

The closer my interview date gets the more nervous I become so sorry for the many questions I've been asking. This one is about tax transcripts. I have requested one via mail on 02/06 and haven't received the transcript yet. I read that it should usually arrive in 2 weeks. If anyone requested...

    Bank Account

Thanks Igmu! It's just a bit surprising for me because it's quite easy to tweak the numbers before printing. I'll go to my bank tomorrow and try to get an official copy. I went paperless with Bank of America more than a year ago to save a tree or two so I don't have monthly mailed statements...

    health insurance?

I'm paying almost $500 a month in premiums for health insurance and dental and my employer pays about the same or even a little bit more for me. I have no deductible and so far I only had to pay one bigger medical bill ($400-ish) because the company who did an ultrasound during an ER visit was...

    Bank Account

Hi, Lorelei and Igmu wrote in a different thread that it might be sufficient to simply print out the balance from the internet banking as long as it contains the name. Here's what I found regarding bank accounts: Bank Deposits—Applicants relying on bank deposits to meet the public...

Where Will You Be Moving To And Why

I've been living in the north Atlanta suburbs for almost 2 years now with an H1-B visa. It's really nice here, Buckhead and downtown Atlanta are pretty close, there are a lot of parks around... I won't say the weather is good because it very much depends on the person. You can always check it on...

    Medical Exam - Hungary

Interview in April - Hungary Hi fellow Hungarians, Finally I got my interview date: April 2. That's pretty tough, I didn't expect it this early. I'm in the US with an H1-B visa, I'm arriving back at home on March 20. Is there anyone else there who's having their interview in Hungary in...

    Job Offer - question

"The employer may submit a notarized letter of employment, in duplicate, on letterhead stationery attesting to the offer of prearranged employment." I would say try to get a printed letter if possible. Are you having your interview in March?
