Finally wait is over: welcome email

I went into name check when I submitted my I485 during the August 2007 fiasco. At that time, there was a rule that after 1 year, name check is automatically cleared if they cannot find anything. When I called up after more than a year had passed, the customer service rep told me it had cleared.

Finally wait is over: welcome email

Wife is not from India, and we applied her country of chargeability for visa number. I did not fall under India quota.

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

Update on our case: Called USCIS last Friday and was told my background check finally cleared. Received letters today for second round of fingerprinting for wife and me on April 7, since our previous fingerprints were in October 2007, and they've expired since it's been 15 months. Also, my...

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

Pre-adjudication? Does that mean your name check just might be cleared? Fingers crossed! I am stuck in name check since Oct 2007. I read that the only way to get this name check process moving forward is through Writ of Mandamus, since Congress folks are no longer forwarding requests to USCIS...

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

VS, Congrats!!!! Every approval makes those of us still in the immigration pipeline hopeful that the process of cross chargeability is moving forward.

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

Even though we are less than a year into the 485 process, it seems a long road ahead. I am stuck in name check since October 2007. The LUD for wife and me is 11/1/2007. So presuming that my name check is cleared by the end of this month (assuming the 180 day rule is in force), should I even...

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

UMass, when I used AP to enter the US this February from New York JFK airport, I was taken to a separate room. The officer stamped my passport and said 'welcome back' without asking any questions. Am not sure if they have access to any other information other than if you have ever been out of...

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

StillPatient, congrats! It's always wonderful to hear from people that the journey is finally over. But more revealing is the many paths and trails people have to navigate to arrive at their destination. Each person's story is absolutely fascinating, and so was yours.

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

This is the first time I called them, since I wanted to knock on their door slightly prior to processing dates approaching the time we filed our 485's. But I made wife call from the perspective that she would be at the receiving end if cross-chargeability was not used. I guess if I called, my...

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

Wife just got off the phone using the POJ method. News was as follows: Her name check cleared. I am stuck in name check. The guy was very polite and flagged us for cross chargeability and sent a request, since were not done so initially. He also said counting 180 days starting last...

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

What's this POJ method? I tried to call TSC and it keeps saying I am entering a wrong number.... i.e. the receipt number on my 485 after SRC-xx-xx-xxxxx are not enough. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

Hi everyone, A part of my New Years resolution is to keep tab on where our GC process is. I could do with some guidance from those who have already done it. So here goes: 1. Our last LUD is November 1, 2007 (after finger printing). When should I contact TSC using POJ to find out about our...

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

Hearty congratulations to the many folks herein who have been receiving their GC's off late. Our wait has only just begun, but this wait seems trivial compared to the new EB2 dates that India has retrogressed to in the January 2008 bulletin.

Concurrent Filing - Using Cross Chargeability

Am wondering how the USCIS and FBI do the background check. Since the USCIS received a deluge of AOS applications in August, will all of the applicants from India be sent to FBI together? If so, they'll be overloaded beyond limit. I guess I am trying to get an understanding of how long I...
