    Reasons for rejection

I called DOS and was "as a matter of factly" told that DOS is NOT required and will NOT send reasons for their decision.:mad::mad: Is this true? Is there a law that requires them to do this?

    Reasons for rejection

I hear that either sponsor, DOS or USCIS is supposed to inform the petitioner of the reasons why the petition was rejected. At what stage are these reasons mailed to the petitioner? Does DOS send it after they mail the recommendation to USCIS or do you have to wait till USCIS is done and you get...

    USCIS step

Does USCIS ever make a decision inconsistent with DOS's recommendation? Could USCIS ever rule in favor of a waiver even if DOS does not recommend it? If not, what is the point of this USCIS step? If yes, in what cases?

    Rejected....No Objection

Got a NOT Favorable recommendation. This is unbelievable... They got someone who already has a job, grad school education etc etc yet they are willing to bring 50000 people here on a coin flip, people who may not even speak the language. To be honest I was shocked considering there are people...

    Sponsor review received

Ok so now they found the sponsor review reply. So they have all of it. It has been a month since they got it. No reply still. Am I up for a rejection? If the sponsor replied positively, shouldn't they (DOS) have made up their mind by now? Can I inquire if the reply was positive?

Sponsor reviews (J-1 HRR waiver No Obj.)

It is been 4.25 months since sponsor review has been requested. Should I start calling/raising hell? I can understand when foreign sponsor needs to be contacted, but this is here in US. It took 1 month to just go from "overything recieved" to "sponsor review request sent" for a net waiting time...

    H-1 with RFE

I will almost certainly be facing an RFE because my lawyer (couldn't switch after all) chose to explicitly state I was subject to 212e in the petition. My question is as follows: Suppose (in the best case) my waiver goes through in 2 months. RFE comes in and I send the waiver to satisfy it...

    F-1 to H-1

Ok first of all thank you very much supplying the info on FSA folks. I am having another problem: even though it is well agreed here on the forum that going from F-1 (212e past) to H-1 is no problem, the company lawyer refuses to file unless I present a waiver. There are a couple of reputable...

    Q for Lucy

Sorry to be a pest, but I was tracking the messages and I understand that you were a student with 212e in 94-95 from Russia. I am guessing a high schooler and I have an idea of what that program is. Let's say I am in a very very similar situation. I got the letter. I am only curious if your...

    No Objection waiver (DOS funding)

First of all I am not a Fullbright. I received 11k from DOS way back in 2000. My funding was for HS studies. Can anyone tell me if it is generally easier to obtain a NO waiver if you were a high schooler during your J1 instead of a university student. I think I wrote a good statement of...
