Thank you for your replies. I do have the visa stamp. I have callled and faxed the embassy several times and finally got a call back today and was told that they don't have my I-797 form. They keep saying that I have it but I DON'T!!! I think I would know if I have such an important document...
I don't have the original because the embassy took it and never gave it back to me when I went for my stamping, so can I show a copy of the I-797 at customs???? Anybody who's had past experiences please answer my question. Thank you!!!!
I was approved for my H1B on December 1 and got my visa stamped on December 21. I am planning to go back to the US in the next week or two even though I just got laid off from the company who sponsored me the H1B. I don't think the company is going to notify USCIS that they have let me go...
My I797 was taken away by the US embassy when I went there for my visa interview. Now I have a valid visa, do I still need the I797 to enter the US?? What should I do if I do need one? Should they have given it back to me after my interview?? Can I go to the embassy to ask for it back?? Any help...
