Arlington VA experience I got my PP stamped on 08/05/02 at Arlington VA, INS center. I used my Courtesy copy and passport was stamped with no questions asked. I reached INS center around 6:20 AM and there were already ~75 people in the Q. My token number was 33, and I was done by 9:45 AM...

Correction Yes, it is 19th July 2002. I left US on 15th July 2002 and my I485 got approved on 19th July 2002. I used AP on 2nd Aug 2002 to reenter US...

I had a different experience When I went for passport stamping I clearly saw the INS officer put a IBIS stamp on my I-89 form and then fill detials in it. Looks like she ran on IBIS check on my name before stamping my passport. Anyway I went two weeks after my I485 approval.. MS

My case got approved while I was in India My case got approved on July 19, 2003, while I was in India. I was unaware of the approval and used AP on 2nd Aug 2002 to get back into US. No questions were asked. Hope this helps...
